Starter Shampoo vs Regular Shampoo	May 6, 2024

Banding and Starter Shampoo are vital to the development of Sisterlocks. After my install, I was not banding and using store shampoo. I hated the way my hair looked. It was poofy, frizzy, and sticking up on my head.

After completing Sisterlocks training, I started banding and using the Starter shampoo. My locs tightened, wild frizz gone. The Starter Shampoo is formulated to lift hair cuticles to aid the loc process. Regular shampoo volumizes hair and smooths it - opposite of loc goals. I went from HATING the look of my raggedy Sisterlocks to loving them. I finally had the signature Sisterlocks look that I signed up for.

I have had my Sisterlocks for a little over 2 years now. I started off with the Starter Shampoo, and loved it. It really helped with the locking process. After the first year, I switched to the Salon Shampoo for a while. It was also very good, but it felt like the Starter Shampoo gave my hair a lot more BODY, so I switched back. I will probably stick with the starter shampoo forever. (Dilute it. It’s very effective in helping your locs retain body even when the shampoo is heavily diluted). ALL the Sisterlocks shampoos are good, but this one is my favorite!

Dilute or No Dilute Starter Shampoo not CLEAR	December 5, 2021

I thought diluting the "starter shampoo" was optional or unnecessary?
Four and a half months later/locked....
I think I will start to dilute my starer shampoo now. Strange that it BURNED recently but not other times, only was kinda sticky when un-banding which I didn't like anyway :)
Another reason to dilute now. Not good that I had to figure it out by myself. I hope I'm right.
